ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – On January 12, 2021, the City Council approved a contract with JJ Fisher Construction, Inc. for the Castillo Del Mar Extension project. JJ Fisher Construction, Inc. will be performing roadway improvements on Castillo Del Mar between Valley Road and the Arroyo Grande High School softball and baseball fields from March 2021 through January 2022, as shown on the location map.
In general, the work will involve the demolition of portions of the existing roadway and Arroyo Grande High School parking lot, and the construction of public improvements within a new right-of-way that will realign Castillo Del Mar to a new connection point with Valley Road. The project will also include a multi-use path, drainage improvements, waterline relocation, landscaping, street lighting, and an access drive between the two Arroyo Grande High School parking lots.
Within the area of construction, pedestrians and bicycles will not be permitted and vehicle traffic will be limited to residences only. Normal work hours will be 7:00 am to 5:00 pm but will be modified to 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when students are present at Arroyo Grande High School.
The roadway improvements may cause temporary inconvenience because of the nature of the work.
The City appreciates your patience during this period and will attempt to minimize the inconvenience. Please contact the Public Works Department at (805) 473-5460 if you have any special needs or concerns that should be taken into consideration during construction. If you have specific questions about the project, please contact Jill McPeek, Capital Improvement Project Manager at jmcpeek@arroyogrande.org or (805) 473-5444. The City will have an inspector on site to address concerns you may have.
