[ARCHIVED] Updated Guidelines for Participation in Public Meetings During the COVID-19 Emergency

ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – In compliance with the State and County Shelter at Home Orders, and pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20, which allows for a deviation of teleconference rules required by the Ralph M. Brown Act, Arroyo Grande City Council and Planning Commission meetings will be held by teleconference only until further notice. Access to the Council Chambers will not be permitted pursuant to the emergency orders. To assist the public with participating in the meeting remotely, the following guidelines will apply at all City Council and Planning Commission meetings that are held for the duration of the emergency:

To provide public comment :

Prior to the meeting, submit written comments to publiccomment@arroyogrande.org  by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting and those communications will be provided to the City Council or Planning Commission prior to the start of the meeting and will be made a part of the record. Please provide the agenda item number in the subject line of your email.

During the meeting, submit written comments to publiccomment@arroyogrande.org up until the introduction of the agenda item and it will be read into the record by the Clerk. A timer will be set and only the portion of the email that can be read in three (3) minutes will be allowed, pursuant to current meeting procedure for public comment. Please provide the agenda item number in the subject line of your email. 

By telephone during the meeting, call 1-833-493-5844. Please provide your name and the Agenda Item you wish to speak on. Comments will be limited to three (3) minutes per speaker, pursuant to current meeting procedure. Please be patient as we work to recognize each caller.

These guidelines may be updated up to and during the meeting as needed based on technology capabilities and/or to implement guidance and direction from the San Luis Obispo County Department of Health and other governmental authorities.
