[ARCHIVED] Bridge Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Western Tree Service, under contract to the City of Arroyo Grande, will be performing tree removal and trimming along Arroyo Grande Creek in the area of Bridge Street from January 16 through January 23, 2020. The work is being performed in advance of the bridge rehabilitation project, currently scheduled to begin in May 2020, in order to minimize impacts to nesting birds and potential project delays should nesting birds be encountered

Due to permitting restrictions of certain activities within the creek, removal of the trees will be accomplished above the creek bank through the use of a crane. This will require Bridge Street to be closed on either side of the bridge during contractor working hours. Normal work hours will be between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Driveway entrances, with the exception of 127 Bridge Street, will remain open and Bridge Street will be re-opened at the end of each working day.

While the tree removal and trimming activities will help prepare the Bridge Street Bridge Rehabilitation project for construction, it may cause temporary inconvenience because of the nature of the work. The City appreciates your patience during this period and will attempt to minimize the inconvenience. Please contact the Public Works Department at (805) 473-5460 if you have any special needs or concerns that should be taken into consideration during this process. If you have questions about the overall project, please call Jill McPeek, Capital Improvement Project Manager at (805) 473-5444.
