ONGOING CLASSES FOR FALL 2017
The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department is offering a variety of classes for youth and adults now through January 2018. For more specific class information, go to www.arroyogrande.org/activities. *Most classes that have already begun can be prorated.*
YOUTH CLASSES
PYJAMA DRAMA Let your imagination take you away this fall in Pyjama Drama! Children aged 6 months - 8 years develop coordination, confidence, communication, and cooperation while having tons of fun! Classes take place on Tuesdays, with times varying depending on class and age. A sibling discount is available.
YOUTH TAHITIAN DANCE with LINDA WHITE Taught by native Tahitian Dancer, Linda White, young dancers will be introduced to and learn the basic moves of Tahitian Dance. Learn the meaning behind the movements and practice traditional dances along with music. Classes take place Mondays from 4 – 4:45 p.m. and are for youth aged 6 – 12 years.
BATON with ALEXIS BREWER Come join the fun and learn how to twirl a baton! Coach Alexis is the Cal Poly feature twirler with over 15 years of baton experience. Learning how to twirl the baton builds confidence, team work, coordination, leadership, determination, and healthy lifestyle habits. Class takes place Mondays, with times according to class.
ART CLASSES with PEGGY VALKO This mixed media class is designed to promote hand/eye coordination, build self-confidence, and increase problem solving abilities. Media includes markers, graphite, watercolors, pastels, colored pencils and crayons. Classes take place on Wednesdays and are for ages 5 and older.
ADULT CLASSES
ADULT TAHITIAN DANCE with LINDA WHITE Taught by native Tahitian Dancer, Linda White, dancers will be introduced to and learn the basic moves of Tahitian Dance. Learn the meaning behind the movements and practice traditional dances along with music. Classes take place Mondays from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m.
ZUMBA with HEIDY MANGIARDI Zumba is an easy to follow dance fitness workout. The class incorporates cardio, muscle-conditioning, balance, and flexibility for a calorie burning dance fitness party! Class take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 5 – 6 p.m., and 10 class punch cards are available.
PICKLEBALL CLINICS with BRETT NOEL Brett Noel is the past trainer and director of Paso Robles Pickleball Club. He is currently ranked as a 4.5 competitive tournament player and is the author of “Coachable Pickleball”. Clinics take place on Tuesdays, from 2 – 4 p.m. and cost $20 per clinic.
ZUMBA GOLD! with CHARLY SCHAAD Looking for a lower intensity dance fitness class? Zumba Gold! is the perfect blend of easy dance choreography and focus on balance, range of motion, and coordination. All ability levels welcome, 55+!
SENIOR FITNESS A low impact recreational exercise program using chairs with optional standing exercises, this class is designed to maintain and improve joint mobility, muscle tone, bone strength, posture and balance. 4 and 8 class punch cards are available, and class costs $4 per day.
