UPDATE: As of the close of the nomination period on August 7, 2020, there were not more candidates than offices to be elected. Therefore, pursuant to Election Code Section 10229, at a special meeting on August 18, 2020, the Arroyo Grande City Council made the appointments and canceled its Consolidated General Municipal Election.

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) requires various campaign disclosure reports from committees, candidates and elected officials at various times of the year. The City Clerk serves as the Filing Officer for local candidates. Candidate and campaign filings (including, but not limited to, the Candidate Intention Statement (501), Statement of Organization Recipient Committee (410), and Campaign Statements (460, 470) for Arroyo Grande candidates and committees for a particular election, are available for public review on the City’s website. Original documents (un-redacted) are public information and available in the City Clerk’s Office for review by appointment during regular business hours Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Copies of statements can be made upon receipt of payment to the City of 10 cents per page.
Voter registration forms are available at the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, library, DMV, U.S. post offices, and City Hall. For additional information, visit the California Secretary of State website.
On May 8, 2020, recognizing the threat COVID-19 continues to pose to public health, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-64-20 which, among other things, orders the November 3, 2020 General Election to be conducted as an all-mail ballot election. Accordingly, all registered voters in California will receive a vote-by-mail ballot in the mail before the election. In-person voting locations will still be available on Election Day. An update on in-person voting locations will be provided on the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s website once the details of in-person voting and drop-off locations have been determined.
