ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The City of Arroyo Grande is pleased to announce it will be awarding one-time Small Business Assistance Grants to eighteen (18) Arroyo Grande businesses. Grant awards are being provided to businesses in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per grant using a portion of the CARES Act revenue received by the City. The grants will assist small businesses who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
The Small Business Assistance Grant Program will provide businesses with funding to reimburse the costs of business interruption caused by required closures. The grants will help local businesses meet immediate funding needs due to COVID-19 impacts, including paying commercial rent, buying personal protective gear, and any other modifications required to make the business compliant with COVID-19 guidelines.
At its meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the City Council will be providing an update on the Small Business Assistance Grant Program and will recognize the grant recipients. “We are very pleased to be able to award grants to eighteen local businesses, which are crucial to our vibrant and thriving local economy,” stated City Manager Whitney McDonald. “We look forward to seeing these businesses thrive in the face of the COVID-19 crisis and appreciate the opportunity to aid in that process.”
