[ARCHIVED] New Fee for Enrichment Lab Distance Learning Program

ARROYO GRANDE - On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, the Arroyo Grande City Council voted to amend to the Master Fee Schedule. A new fee has been added for the Enrichment Lab distance learning program offered through the Recreation Services Department. Due to COVID-19, the Department partnered with the Lucia Mar School District (LMUSD) to provide a child care program to assist working families and help children accomplish their school work. The Enrichment Lab is for youth from any school, Kingergarten-6th Grades, and accommodates distance learning while following State Public Health and CDC guidelines.

The Enrichment Lab is operated at Ocean View and Branch Elementary Schools and is open from 7am-6pm. The state licensed child care program is operated by child care professionals and provides supervision and enrichment activities. Scheduled activities allow participants to connect with their teachers and classroom meetings. This program is unique from existing programs given the distance learning format. The LMUSD has waived all facility fees and enhanced custodial services to assist during this state of emergency. The new fee for the program is $195 per week, and additional funding sources are being sought by the Recreation Services Department to assist those in need. For more information about this program and to inquire about scholarship opportunities, contact agrec@arroyogrande.org or register online at www.arroyogrande.org/catalog.
