Leaders of the City of Arroyo Grande join in the collective outrage and pain over the killing of George Floyd. We mourn for the loss of his life, for the many other People of Color whose lives have been tragically ended, and for the role that individual and systemic racism have had in their deaths. We hear the anger and concern being expressed at the rallies and protests occurring in our local and regional communities and across the country, and we are listening to the calls for reform.
Please join the Arroyo Grande City Council via teleconference at its meeting on June 9th at 6:00 p.m. to hear a brief update from the Acting City Manager and the Chief of Police and to lend your voice. Information on how to join the meeting are on the City’s website here: Agenda Center.
The events occurring in our nation require us to act. We are committed to ensuring that we are part of the solution and that all of our citizens feel safe and welcome in our community.
