[ARCHIVED] Arroyo Grande to Hold Weekly City Council Meetings During the COVID-19 Emergency

ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The Arroyo Grande City Council will hold weekly City Council meetings until further notice during the COVID-19 emergency. The Council believes that the additional meetings will help maximize opportunities to share information about COVID-19 efforts, provide additional opportunities for public engagement, and to give the Council the ability to act quickly if necessary to COVID-19 issues and concerns.

The City Council will continue to hold its regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  Special City Council meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 4:30 p.m. until further notice and will be limited to COVID-19 issues.

Meetings will continue to take place via teleconference until further notice, pursuant to the local emergency concerning the COVID-19 virus and in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 and the San Luis Obispo County Emergency Services Director’s Order to Shelter At Home. The public may still view City Council meetings one of the following ways:

Cable Channel 20:  The City Council meeting can be viewed live on Channel 20 and will be rebroadcast daily thereafter at 9:00 a.m., 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

Internet Livestream: The City Council meeting will be streamed live online and can be accessed via the City’s website and the SLO-Span website.

Public Comment: Members of the public may submit written comments in advance of the meeting by emailing publiccomment@arroyogrande.org up until the introduction of the agenda item. Please provide the agenda item number in the subject line of your email. Emails will be read into the record by the City Clerk. A timer will be set and only the portion of the email that can be read in three (3) minutes will be allowed, pursuant to current meeting procedure for public comment.

Teleconference: To listen to the meeting by phone and/or provide comment by phone, the public may call 1-833-493-5844. During public comment period(s) on agenda items, each connected caller will be asked if they wish to submit any public comment on that item, limited to three (3) minutes per speaker, pursuant to current meeting procedure. Please be patient as we work to recognize each caller.

The next City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.

Agendas for meetings are posted on the City’s website in the Agenda Center.

These guidelines may be updated up to and during the meeting as needed based on technology capabilities and/or to implement guidance and direction from the San Luis Obispo County Department of Health and other governmental authorities.
