ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – On June 12, 2018, the City Council approved a contract with V. Lopez Jr. & Sons, Inc. for the 2018 Street Repairs project. V. Lopez Jr. & Sons will be performing street repairs and overlays on certain streets within the City during the months of July and August 2018, as shown on the location map. These improvements are part of a systematic program for maintaining, repairing and improving the streets within the City
The work on James Way, from North Oak Park Boulevard to Tally Ho Road, will consist of digout patches to repair potholes and localized failures in preparation of an overlay anticipated for next year. The work on Garden Street, south of East Branch Street, will consist of digout repairs followed by an overlay.
During construction there will be intermittent lane closures for safety purposes, but it is not anticipated that any roadway will be closed completely to vehicular traffic, except during final paving operations on Garden Street. The Contractor will place informational barricades on the streets advising of specific dates and locations of parking restrictions. Please note that although the barricade may state certain hours, the actual construction work may occur at any time within that range. Normal work hours will be between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except for Garden Street which will be between 8:00 and 5:00 pm. In addition, for work extending past August 15, 2018, work hours will be restricted to 9:30 am to 5:00 pm Mondays, and 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Friday on Garden Street to avoid conflicts with morning student commute traffic.
The street repairs may cause temporary inconvenience because of the nature of the work. The City appreciates your patience during this period and will attempt to minimize the inconvenience. Please contact the Public Works Department at (805) 473-5460 if you have any special needs or concerns that should be taken into consideration during construction. If you have specific questions about the project, please call Jill McPeek, Capital Improvement Project Manager at (805) 473-5444. The City will also have an inspector on site to address any of your concerns.
