[ARCHIVED] 40th Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run

The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department and the Arroyo Grande Lions Club are sponsoring the 40th Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run on Sunday, November 19, 2017.  A rain out date is scheduled for Sunday, December 3, 2017.  The race will be held at the Arroyo Grande High School track, 495 Valley Road in Arroyo Grande.  Registration will take place from 1:00 -1:45 p.m. with the first race at 2:00 p.m. There is no charge for race participation.  The Kona Ice truck will be in attendance with refreshing treats.  The cost for the treats are $3.00 for a regular, $4.00 for a king kona, and $5.00 for a kowabunga.

Awards will be given for first, second, and third place.  First place will receive a turkey, second place a chicken, and third place a Cornish game hen.  Each participant at registration will receive a free raffle ticket for the after race raffles for each age group.  There will be great raffle prizes donated by local businesses. 

The distance for boys and girls will be the same in each division although girls and boys will race separately.  Divisions will be broken up as follows: preschool and younger 1/8 mile, kindergarten 1/8 mile, first grade ¼ mile, second grade ¼ mile, third grade ½ mile, fourth grade ½ mile, fifth grade ¾ mile, sixth grade ¾ mile, and seventh and eighth grade 1 mile.
