ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The City of Arroyo Grande is holding its fifth and final public districting hearing on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:00 PM during the City Council’s regular meeting. The public will be able to participate in this meeting in-person in the City Council Chamber, located at 215 E Branch Street, and virtually via Zoom. Additionally, the meeting will be broadcast live on Arroyo Grande Cable Channel 20 and streamed online.

At this hearing, staff will introduce an ordinance establishing by-district elections for four Council Members as well as defining district boundaries and scheduling the order of elections for each district.

Following discussion and hearing public input at the March 8th districting public hearing, a majority of the Council selected Plan 202 Mod (modified). Council also selected an election sequence beginning with Districts 1 and 4 up for election this November 2022 followed by Districts 2 and 3 in 2024.

Following this hearing, the proposed ordinance is scheduled to come back to the City Council for adoption on April 12, 2022.

All maps, including draft maps and Council selected focus maps, are available for viewing on the City’s districting webpage at www.arroyogrande.org/districtelections

The City invites members of the Arroyo Grande community to continue to participate in the districting process to help ensure district lines respect neighborhoods, communities of interest, history and geographical elements.
