ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA – The City of Arroyo Grande is holding its third public districting hearing on Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:00 PM during the City Council’s regular meeting. The public will be able to participate in this meeting virtually via Zoom. Additionally, the meeting will be broadcast live on Arroyo Grande Cable Channel 20 and streamed online.
At this hearing, the City’s demographer, National Demographics Corporation (NDC) will provide a presentation on the districting process and draft maps submitted by the public. The City Council will review the draft maps submitted by the public and NDC, discuss election sequencing, and seek resident feedback. Maps selected to move on for final review will be published on the City’s districting webpage at www.arroyogrande.org/districtelections and discussed again at a fourth public hearing on March 8, 2022.
The City invites members of the Arroyo Grande community to participate in the districting process to help ensure district lines respect neighborhoods, communities of interest, history and geographical elements.
All draft maps submitted by the February 8th deadline, as well as the dates for remaining public hearings and map adoption, are available for viewing on the City’s website at www.arroyogrande.org/districtelections.
