Rebates & Education Programs

Each year, over 50% of the City's water is used to water landscaping, with most of this water being used in the five months between May and September.  To help offset the significant stress placed on our limited water resources by indoor use and landscape irrigation, the City offers the following water conservation rebate and education programs aimed at decreasing high water usage, saving you money:
  • Cash for Grass Rebate Program - Due to its popularity and limited funding, this program has been suspended until further notice.  See www.saveourwaterrebates.com for the State's Turf Replacement Rebate Program.
StormRewards Program - Administered by Coastal San Luis Resource Conservation District
This rebate program provides an incentive for landowners to install rain gardens, rain barrel, dry well, porous pavement and remove impervious pavement.  Visit www.stormrewards.org or call (805) 772-4391 for more information.

Sustainable Landscape Seminar Series
